OUR HOMELAND, THE ONE AND ONLY LAND

In southern Corfu, between the fishing village of Boukari and the traditional, semi-mountainous settlement of Kouspades, extend the olive groves owned by the family since the beginning of last century.

Their production followed the model of the island’s oil production history, i.e., it was directed to the Italian market, in wholesale quantities, to be processed and sold in Europe and around the world, with an Italian name and passport.

In the 70’s the need to seek a better fortune brought the 3rd generation of the family to America, like many other Greeks at the time. A decade later Eleni came to life in this new homeland, who grew up, studied and was successfully active in the business sector for many years.

However, through family stories and the ties with Corfu that were never cut, she always had the desire to return to her roots.

“I HAD A DREAM”

Since she was a small child, she traveled with her family to Corfu for their summer vacations. She was about 8 years old when, going for a walk with her grandparents in the family’s olive groves, she got the idea to work with this green paradise in the future.

A paradise of ancient trees from which Eleni knew the delicious olive oil they used at home, back in America, for their daily Mediterranean diet.

 

A KISS, A FROG AND A “ROYAL WEDDING”

Love was “love at first sight”.

This rich nature, the unique climate, the people, the tradition, the culture and especially her unconventional DNA, contributed to Eleni Marketis making the big decision of coming back.

With knowledge and experiences from her previous life in the USA, but also with respect for tradition and especially with love, she embraced the family olive grove in order to “marry” the long tradition of olive production and pressing with the most modern scientific methods in order to create the first bottled and branded olive oil of the family.

You must first cultivate yourself in order to cultivate the land properly…

This is why Eleni Marketis did not return to her ancestral olive groves to simply invest in the land.

First of all, she invested in the essential knowledge and acquaintance of the secrets to cultivating the olive tree, olive oil production and Quality Control, Perfecting Olive Oil Tasting and Marketing of olive products.

By participating in a series of Greek and international seminars*, she studied, met and was introduced to the magical world of the olive tree, obtaining the corresponding knowledge and certifications that will ensure the realization of her basic principle: to work with passion but also with knowledge, guiding her team members and collaborate with her suppliers and other olive oil industry professionals, on the basis of the modern way of Project Management that requires respect, teamwork and inspiration.

This is how the story of ROYAL FROG began.

A story about the “kiss of life”, given by a woman to the humble but rare Lianolia and the family olive groves.

A kiss that transformed her humble olive oil into a top, high standard health food product that satisfies even the most demanding “royal” palate.

A kiss that transformed the mountain estates into a new place of state-of-the-art production of extra virgin olive oil and other products from the fruits of the sacred tree.

And so today, with great pride, she recommends to America, her second homeland, but also to the whole world, her own precious elixirs of longevity; her “royal” gourmet secrets of the “good life”.

I was born in America by Greek parents and grew up with their stories and those of my grandparents.

Beautiful stories coming out of a fairy tale, talking about a place with dignity and nobility, full of a rare “royal treasure”.

A treasure with a share for all people: the virgin nature, its pure products, such as the tree of Lianolia and its precious juice!

Thus, I decided to return to Greece, to my small homeland Corfu and to our olive groves in the village of Kouspades, in Boukari of western Corfu, to discover this noble, enjoyable and healthy treasure and to share it with people all over the world.

And this is how my story began.
